Gold remains under pressure in the reviewed Vantage charts, trading around 4,138–4,140 after a sequence of lower highs and lower lows. The immediate technical bias remains bearish, but nearby demand and the upcoming US inflation release make chasing the decline unattractive.

Our preferred scenario is a confirmed rejection following a recovery toward resistance. A bullish reversal from lower demand remains an alternative if inflation and price action support it.

Methodology

This analysis combines the supplied H4, H1, M30 and M15 charts with published CPI forecasts and market commentary from BLS, Reuters, ING, FOREX.com and FXStreet.

H4 and H1 establish the broader directional context. M30 and M15 identify nearby supply, demand and broken structure. Any entry requires fresh post-release confirmation on M5 or M15.

The chart’s supply and demand boxes are indicator-generated reference zones. Their volume labels do not establish institutional positioning or represent trade-success probabilities. Levels are approximate and may differ between broker feeds.

CPI Expectations and Analyst Views

MeasureConsensus forecast
Headline CPI m/m0.6%
Headline CPI y/y3.6%
Core CPI m/m0.2%
Core CPI y/y2.5%

The Reuters survey points to stronger headline inflation alongside a slower monthly increase in core prices. ING presents a hotter alternative, forecasting 0.7% headline and 0.3% core month-on-month, and expects renewed dollar support.

FOREX.com’s Matt Weller argues that the expected headline increase is already anticipated, making underlying inflation more important than the headline number alone. FXStreet’s Dhwani Mehta maintains a cautious near-term Gold outlook, identifying 4,100 as a downside area to watch.

Our interpretation: A high headline reading does not automatically mean lower Gold. The surprise relative to expectations—and the resulting dollar and Treasury-yield reaction—will matter more.

Technical Structure

H4: The recovery toward the 4,217 area has faded. Price remains below a broad overhead supply region, leaving the larger structure vulnerable.

H1: Successively lower rally peaks and renewed breaks of recent lows favour sellers. Demand around 4,106–4,121 is the next important reaction area.

M30/M15: Short-term structure remains bearish. The 4,161–4,171 region combines nearby supply with a recent swing-high area, making it more significant than a brief recovery above 4,155 alone.

Key Levels

ZoneRole
4,135–4,136Immediate low; potential breakdown or sweep area
4,106–4,121Combined H1/M30 demand region
4,066–4,102Broader H4 demand if the nearer zone fails
4,144–4,150Initial broken-structure reclaim area
4,161–4,171Key intraday resistance and decision zone
4,180–4,200Overhead supply across multiple timeframes
4,208–4,225Previous-high region and upper supply

Scenarios

Scenario A — Bearish Pullback Rejection

A post-CPI recovery into 4,161–4,171, followed by rejection, an M5 bearish structure break and a failed retest, would support a continuation setup.

Potential downside references are 4,145–4,136, followed by 4,121–4,106.

A sustained move above 4,171 would invalidate this local rejection thesis. A price touch alone does not activate a sell.

Scenario B — Demand Sweep and Bullish Reversal

A decline into 4,106–4,121 could produce a recovery opportunity if price sweeps a low, reclaims demand, breaks short-term bearish structure and holds the retest.

Potential recovery references are 4,136–4,150, followed by 4,161–4,171.

Acceptance below demand and a failed reclaim would invalidate the reversal thesis. The zone is not a blind buy area.

Scenario C — Bullish Breakout and Acceptance

Softer inflation, weaker dollar/yields and an M15 close above 4,171 followed by a successful retest would improve the intraday recovery outlook.

The next resistance areas are 4,180–4,190, followed by 4,198–4,208. These are potential reaction zones, not guaranteed targets.

Risks & Invalidation

The first CPI spike may reverse or develop into a sustained breakout. Mixed headline and core readings can produce conflicting reactions, while spreads and slippage may worsen execution.

Entries and stops must be reassessed against the actual post-release structure. Skip a setup if price runs away, confirmation is absent or the next obstacle leaves insufficient reward relative to risk.

This report supersedes the earlier illustrative 4,152 sell / 4,155 buy plans and their fixed stops. Those levels should not be treated as active orders.

ASURLABS Outlook

Bias: Bearish, with confirmation required.

We favour evaluating a pullback rejection while price remains below the 4,161–4,171 decision zone. A confirmed reversal from 4,106–4,121, or sustained acceptance above 4,171, would require reassessment.

Wait for the data. Confirm the structure. Trade only a valid setup.

Methodology

Price-action analysis of the supplied XAUUSD chart snapshots from 14 October 2026, approximately 11:35 UTC. The visible sequence of lower highs and lower lows supports a bearish bias. Exact chart timeframes were obscured; no volume, indicator or order-flow confirmation was available. Proposed entries require post-CPI M5 confirmation and a retest.

Scenarios

Bearish: After CPI, rejection within 4,150–4,155 with bearish M5 confirmation could support a planned entry near 4,152, SL 4,162, and targets 4,136 / 4,125 / 4,118. Bullish: After CPI, an M5 close above 4,155 followed by a successful retest could support a planned entry near 4,155, SL 4,147, and targets 4,167 / 4,178 / 4,190. These are illustrative trade plans derived from the snapshot, not active signals. Hotter-than-forecast inflation may support the bearish case; softer inflation may support the bullish case, subject to dollar, yield and price reactions.

Key levels

- 4,135–4,136: Visible recent low and immediate support. - 4,143–4,145: Initial reclaim/rejection area. - 4,150–4,155: Recovery hurdle and potential rejection zone. - 4,165–4,168: Recent lower-high resistance. - 4,118: Chart-marked pivot; its calculation was not independently verified. Exact entries, stops and additional targets are proposed planning levels—not independently confirmed support or resistance.

Risks & invalidation

CPI can cause whipsaws, wider spreads and slippage beyond the planned stop. Mixed inflation readings may produce conflicting reactions. The sell setup loses validity if price establishes acceptance above the rejection zone; 4,162 is its proposed stop. The buy setup loses validity if the breakout fails to hold; 4,147 is its proposed stop. Skip either setup if confirmation is absent, price runs beyond the entry, or post-release structure requires a different stop. Reassess using a fresh chart before execution.
