Bitcoin Daily Outlook: BTC Defends $62K as Monday Macro Risk Approaches
Published: 2 August 2026
Reference price: Approximately $62,447
Daily bias: Bearish-to-neutral below $63,587.81
Bitcoin enters Monday near $62.4K after slipping below $63,000 and trading under the daily pivot at $63,587.81. The price is still holding above first daily support at $61,766.07, so the market is not in a confirmed downside breakdown. However, buyers have not yet recovered the level required to restore short-term control.
The immediate structure is therefore a decision range between S1 at $61,766.07 and the daily pivot at $63,587.81. Until BTC breaks and holds outside this area, intraday price action may remain choppy and vulnerable to false moves.
Technical Structure
BTC is trading roughly 1.8% below the daily pivot and only about 1.1% above S1. This places the market closer to support than resistance, but proximity alone is not a buy signal. The response at $61,766 will be more important than the first touch.
The 24-hour range reported by CoinGecko is approximately $62,263 to $63,090. A recovery above that range high would improve short-term momentum, but the stronger bullish confirmation remains a sustained reclaim of $63,587.81.
Bullish Scenario
The bullish case requires S1 to hold, followed by a confirmed close and successful retest above the daily pivot. If BTC establishes acceptance above $63,587.81, the first upside objective becomes R1 at $64,709.63. Continued demand could then extend the recovery toward R2 at $66,531.37.
A brief spike above the pivot without a retest would be weaker confirmation and could become a liquidity trap. Buyers need to show sustained acceptance rather than only a short-lived breakout.
Bearish Scenario
The bearish case strengthens if price closes below $61,766.07 and fails to reclaim it. That would expose S2 at $60,644.25. If S2 also fails, the psychological $60,000 area becomes the next important zone to monitor.
Because the market remains below the daily pivot, sellers retain a modest short-term advantage. However, entering aggressively near support carries poor location risk unless a confirmed breakdown and retest occur.
Market Drivers
Institutional flow remains mixed. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a $265.4 million net outflow on 31 July, reversing the previous session's $233.1 million inflow, according to Farside Investors. This late-week reversal suggests that institutional demand has not yet stabilized.
CoinGlass reports approximately $47.48 billion in Bitcoin open interest, $26.82 billion in 24-hour futures volume, and about $34.02 million in 24-hour liquidations. This derivatives-heavy environment can amplify both breakout moves and false breaks, especially when weekend spot liquidity is relatively thin.
Headline risk also remains present after Strategy discussed a framework that could allow up to $5 billion in Bitcoin sales for liquidity, financing and repurchase needs. This is not confirmation of an immediate full sale, but the possibility may continue to weigh on sentiment.
Monday's major macro catalyst is the U.S. ISM Manufacturing Index, scheduled for 10:00 AM ET, or 2:00 PM UTC. A stronger-than-expected result could support the U.S. dollar and pressure risk assets if markets interpret it as reducing the need for easier monetary policy. A weaker reading could support a relief rebound, although the initial reaction may be volatile.
ASURLABS View
The base case for 3 August is bearish-to-neutral while BTC remains below $63,587.81. The most important levels are $61,766.07 on the downside and $63,587.81 on the upside.
Above $63,587.81 after confirmation: watch $64,709.63 and $66,531.37.
Below $61,766.07 after confirmation: watch $60,644.25 and the $60,000 area.
Between S1 and the pivot: expect range conditions and avoid chasing price in the middle.
